So finally, I submitted my thesis yesterday, and everything in CUHK is finished! Liberty talked about manuscript submission with me, and he wanted me to run the analysis all over again. I don't know why every single time I find him is like I am falling into an eternal trap. Basically he repeated all the sentences he had told me in the past 2 months:
"Henry you have to write the result first." "We can decide how many tables in the paper. Say if you have 30 pages, you should drop all the psychoanalytic part so that the introduction is 4 to 5 pages, then you can ....... you should put all the item in the factor analysis.........(Henry: But the items are protected by copyright, as warned by the author) "You are still not very clear about narcissistic personality............." "We can try journal of personality disorder, which has high impact factor, about 3 point something (Henry: hey old man, it's just 1 point something............" "You should separate the analysis by gender.......(Henry: what the ...........)"
Frankly I fear the chairlady very much, but on the other hand, I have to confess that she's so meticulous and intelligent that can make appropriate and critical comments on my paper. Two days of reading by her are much more valuable then Liberty's "diligent-but-not-productive" work.
I just don't understand why, why a year of data analysis by a mphil student is not enough for a journal submission. He always boasts about his diligent work with golf-girl, says something like "we have done the analyses over and over again in the past 2 weeks, and we have revised .......... and we ............... and we have................. " WTF! That only proves your memory deficient and lack of planning in leading a research project.
Finally I sit still with my cello and study this piece
It's a very difficult piece, as everyone knows
probably I have to change the bridge of my cello before being able to play the artificial harmonics and extremely high pitch (my current bridge is a standard german one, which is a bit too high for high notes. The another one is a Czech bridge, which is a gift from my teacher, is much lower........ tough the sound will become thinner and less sweet)
and as you play such a difficult piece, you will soon notice the difference between a HK1k bow and a HK100k bow.......... a good bow will surely lessen the burden in producing those moves
